Jiggly gelatin
Squishy, silly dessert thing
Hello, Jello cup
Undue suffering
From something so very small
Bye bye, kidney stone
I am electric
My thick new hair stands on end
Under the full moon
I do not believe
In ghosts, spirits, and phantoms
Yet you still haunt me
A chill up my rear
A dry seat indoors beside
A rainy window
Howling winds we share
Earth lungs on a shaky breath
How many more are there
Make me a sandwich
And sing me to sleep
I’m a little hungry
And a whole lot of tired
Blank is a bitch
And I can’t count sheep
Which makes me angry
And a little bit wired
So I flip the switch
And I’m out in the street
Which makes no sense to me
‘Cuz I’m still very tired
My side’s developed a stitch
From pacing and moving my feet
And I want to flee
But that’s not how I’m wired
So I sit in a ditch
All crumpled in a heap
And head home around three
Before I’m any more mired
I’ll make my own sandwich
I’ll sing myself to sleep
‘Cuz I’m a little hungry
And a whole lot of tired
A bead of sweat runs
Down a shaft of ice and drips
Far below its home
“Tock, tock” repeating
What creature tocks in my wall
On this chilly night
“Do you believe?”
She said to he
Atop that round green spot
Under a black expanse
A trillion twinkling eyes
Looking down on the couple
“In what?”
He said to she
A chasm of silence
Yawned open between the two
As moments passed into minutes
It had been answer enough.
