“Tock, tock” repeating
What creature tocks in my wall
On this chilly night
“Do you believe?”
She said to he
Atop that round green spot
Under a black expanse
A trillion twinkling eyes
Looking down on the couple
“In what?”
He said to she
A chasm of silence
Yawned open between the two
As moments passed into minutes
It had been answer enough.
A frigid wind howls
‘Round the smelly plastic bag
I take out the trash
Cookies crumble
Towers tumble
Milk spills
Blood stills
Stay humble
Everyday everyday everyday
Everyday everyday everyday
Everyday everyday everyday
I’ve read
And I’ve been told
I should write
Everyday everyday everyday
Five, seven, five
Syllables they say belong in a haiku
But whatever
Laundry took one sock
And one has a tear
But it’s okay
‘Cuz I have a spare
Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick.
Father time taps his finger
On the table.
Pizza, pizza pie,
But never a pizza cake.
Pizza, pizza, why?
Snow falls raucously,
Or, so I hear, that it can,
Up atop mountains
