My mind's been a maze
A lazy lobotomy
Made a labyrinth
And I've been chasing the same
Monster I've been running from

Split down the middle
A broken mind, a torn heart
Tired, cloven feet
But mighty horns to protect
From those who get too close

Blood on the pavement
Face-to-face with the monster
In my reflection
Is there another way out
Drop the knife and take my hand

I ran until safe
Bare feet sore on the pavement
Heart beating my chest
The beast that wanders this maze
Why does it pursue me so?

He almost caught me
The minotaur that roams here
Jealously searching
In these halls between the walls
Where the mirrors are covered

Sore feet on pavement
Walled in by the road ahead
How long has it been
Since I've seen another soul
Walking the same path as me

Bleary eyes open
To gray walls and hidden skies
Morning in the maze
It might not look different
But the minotaur knows it

The stars high above
Fade into inky darkness
Replaced with water
'Til all is black and muffled
Sweet siren song fades away

Oh to slip below
To let the sea fill my ears
To drown out the song
To deny the harpies' meal
To squirm against my heartbeat

Sink your feet in it
Let it sift between your toes
What sand was made for
A coarse, fine contradiction
You are not soon forgotten
