Set down the flashlight
Gaze into the dark above
See new lights appear
Set down the flashlight
Gaze into the dark above
See new lights appear
“I remember you.”
I said into the mirror.
“You look diff’rent now.”
Torrential downfall
Tapped Heavenly reservoir
When will it dry up?
The sky opens up
For the cloud-naming gazer
Who sees what’s hidden
Cool wavy waters
Wet the soles of dangling feet
Sitting off the dock
Bright-eyed, bushy-tailed
Rise and shine, you morning birds
That’s the fantasy
It’s every morning
The zombies rise from their crypts
And brew their coffee
Here it is, again
Ghost of emotions long dead
Why do you haunt me?
An ice-cold pickle
Salty, crunchy, delicious
Hot summer evening
Leaves cling stubbornly
To the branches they call home
‘Til it’s time to go
